Scales Of Ethics by Voodoodoodle Scales Of Ethics by Voodoodoodle
"Money be the weight that tips the scales of ethics." ~Anonymous.

Does this make me one of the big-boy satirists now?

You forgot the money they throw at SCANDAL.
You know, like paying off victims of PedoPriests, to keep them quiet.
In the Vatican, TRUTH is a four-letter word.

As much as I would love to do a cartoon about that; I'm either too stupid, lazy (or both) to be able to fit the concept of scandal in its entirety and all its forms into one symbolic image.

Pssh...I don't think you are either stupid OR lazy.
Don't mind me...it's just I have a real problem with those who claim to be a moral authority, yet repeatedly protect perverts.
The York Catholic District School Board has slandered my name and made disgusting allegations against me.
I find it RICH that an organization that has ties to a religion that has become synonymous with Pedophilia, and the protection of Pedophile Priests should be pointing the finger at ANYONE.
The quote "Physician, heal thyself" comes to mind.
As does this one
"Thou shalt not bear FALSE witness"
A biblical quote that the YCDSB is apparently unfamiliar.

If I manage to come up with a cartoon about the scandal then I will, but I am lazy. Sometimes I'll get a great idea and the most I can be bothered to do is note it on a sticky and save it for when I can be arsed to drag myself away from watching Youtube atheists shout at Christians or playing either one of the Bioshocks. (Infinite is going to kick ass!)

That out of the way; what kind of allegations? Are they doing that Scientology thing where they accuse you of doing something wrong every time you try to point out their flaws? I can't really fully explain it, but it's summed up in the quote "What are YOUR crimes?" when a reporter tried to interview a couple of Scientology members, that was their response.

And I agree, the paedophilia scandal is something I have spoken out about a few times before (most notably in my poem about the popes visit) and it's something I do find appalling. However, these are the least of the Catholic churches crimes, there is a whole lot more they have done in the past, and continue to do today that is just as –if not more– sickening than covering up sex abuse allegations. There's a comment above this one that sums up just one of them.

This is one of the first letters that I began to send out [link]
This is the Witch Hunt folder, that has much more detail [link]
If you search 'Keswick snow art police torture' there will be more that I lazily haven't added to the Witch-Hunt folder.
I've pretty much given up on updating my folders.

Holy tombola on a pogo stick! Is this still going on? I wish I could do something to help, I suppose I could help you research the law in your country and maybe assist with finding a diplomatic way out of this. That's pretty much all I can do; unfortunately I'm in Britland and I'm not a lawyer, nor do I know any (I'm allergic to dick-heads).

You could write "Premier" Dalton McGuinty [link]
Or contact the York Catholic District School Board [link]
You could contact the Mayor at rgrossi@georgina.ca
You could contact the lying "Superintendent" Fran Bagley at Frances.Bagley@ycdsb.ca
You can contact the York Regional "Police" Force at info@yrp.ca
You could contact the Ontario Ministry of Justice at AttorneyGeneral@ontario.ca and tell them to charge those who tortured me, or those who slandered me, or both, instead of persisting in punishing me for the lies of the Catholic School Board.
Any help is welcome, and I will answer questions from you or ANY one else.
See if you find the same is true from the above mentioned people.

That is, until the church throws money at lawyers to throw lawsuits at you.

That's pretty much what it's getting at.

Say, for example, a girl was raped and became pregnant; the church has the funding to convince politicians to make abortions illegal and has more than enough to fight anyone who disagrees with them in court. The girl doesn't want to live with a bastard-child that'll be a nightmarish constant reminder of an event she wishes she could forget, and that child will resent her for not giving it the love it needed because that child is unwanted. This would normally lead to crime, narcotic dependency, alcoholism or severe depression if not handled correctly. Worse still is that the girl would be so desperate to get rid of the child that she'll opt to have a "back-alley" abortion and risk infection or even death. But the church paid good money to say that it is "unethical" to have an abortion because they don't know the different between a cluster of cells and a fully grown, autonomous human being; just like that girl who's life they ruined. But oh no, as long as the church is paying the cash then they get to call the shots. The same argument can be said for other issues of ethics like euthanasia and the persecution and segregation of homosexuals and lesbians in the military (in the U.S. I don't know about the U.K. but I think we're all for equal rights at the moment).

Whereas on the other side of the scale, we've got FACTS in the form of logic, reason and evidence. No matter how much money you throw at them they cannot be denied and they will never go away, and if we're willing to fight against someone else imposing their beliefs on us and force us to do something we think is wrong then we should put as much weight as possible into the evidence, reason and logical arguments we provide in order to prevent decisions being based on someone else's moral system. Thus tipping the scale in favour of fairness.
